Flour writing

I am struggling with uyay when it comes to asking him to write, color, draw. He just is not interested. He still cant hold a pen properly. Therefor i tried different method. In montessory way they teach that kids love to learn with all senses. A paper, a pen and the drawing it creates does not really use all senses therefor its flat and boring. So I spread flour in baking tray, gave him a pen and yes he is now holding a pen and started tracing letters, and he was busy with them for about a good half hour.
