Toronto sightseeing tour, hop on hop off double decker bus.

Living in downtown toronto currently, we will often see this red double decker bus bringing tourist around downtown Toronto. Curious as I always am, we tried this sightseeing bus tour. We manage to get this ticket for 7 consecutive days bus ride, which I think is just perfect.

Thats the bus.
Us on the bus.

There was an English speaking tour guide on the bus which was very informative and we enjoyed their jokes as well.

We made a stop at eaton centre then go around the area which includes the city hall, eaton centre shopping complex, one of the biggest and longest mall in Toronto that span 2 subway lines. Above is the beautiful toronto city hall.

Malls around eaton centre.

Eaton square.

Us at the lake in front the city hall, building behind us is the old city hall.

This is younge street, it is the longest street in world. From each ends it takes a total of 27h to drive along it. On this particular day it was closed for a festival.

That is the flatiron building, which has only 3 walls, yep new york has the simmilar shape building, while this building is shorter than the new york one it is definitely the oldest.

It was built in 1890 and was the tallest building at that time, 6 stories high. Currently though look at the taller building behind it. Wonder how tall will a building become in another 100 years time. Hmmm

"
This is how it looks like in 1890. Nice.

So anyway we took the bus everyday for that week. Even on weekdays when abah has to work, I will take the kids to go around the city on the bus. Untill we can memorize the tour guide script and jokes.

Here are some more places that we visit.

Thats our route. They have about 24 stops. We live near the stop around cn tower. So we usually take the bus from that stop and go around to stop at one place and take the bus again to go home.

The tour also comes with a free boat trip around toronto island. Will share about the boat tour in another posting . InsyaAllah.

We do learn a lot from the tour , ecspecially when you take it around the city for 7 times hahaha. It does give me some idea about downtown Toronto and the city structure, its history etc.

Will update more about my jalan jalan around the city.

See you soon.

Homeschool for now.

Schools in Canada will be open by early September. I am a bit worried for the kids and I do not know what to expect on the syllabus of schools here. Alhamdulillah I found few books which gives me some idea. Harith will go to grade 3 and Zuhayr will go to grade 1 this school year.

I got some exercise books for math, science and story book to for the kids to practice their reading.

Yang kecik tu will kacau soon enough. So ummi have to give her something to distract her as well.

Harith working on writing letters.

Ummi gives Diha few bowl with rice and spoon for her to play scoop. This distract her enough for her brother to finish their work. I usually let them do workbook for about 15-20minutes tops, then they will do something else like snacks, reading, iqra and physical activities like playing. Playing yang banyak sebenarnye. No craft activities at the moment.

Overall I find that mostly the syllabus is the same, only the way they introduce it and emphasizing it is interesting . Agama learning will have to come from me. So i am working on thats syllabus jugak. Good luck to me. Bismillah...

Wish me luck.

Playground in the city.

While finalizing our permanent house, we currently stayed at a service apartment at downtown Toronto. I feel its just perfect for me to explore the city of Toronto fully. Since its so near, hubby actually just walk to work everyday.

We can even view his office from here.

Within walking distance is the CN tower. And a train heritage park nearby. The kids enjoy the morning walk to the park and its playground.

Us walking at the park. I am actually in love with all this beautiful glass building around Toronto. Its really stunning.

At this time of the year, the weather is stil perfect and sunny. Its do look bright and sunny in this picture but the temperature is quite cool at 22c making the sun feels so invitable. That tall freestanding building  behind that play area is the CN Tower.

There is this beautiful train heritage park with few beautiful old train models with old tracks.
However to top it all.....

An actual moving train that brings people around the park'!,!,!!

Well I mean mini train for kids, that allows adult to board with their kids. Looks at the happiest and most excited faces all the way to the back! Ke yang balakang tu je yang over-excited? Lol.

What is that?? That i s an actual water tank for the little train, who goes around using steam engine.

Then, after the kids done flexing all their muscle. We go home rest, eat snacks and start our homeschool. I will share a out it in the next post. Stay tune. :). Thank you for reading.
